PAYANGAN, BALI– Anantara Ubud Bali Resort invites guests to discover the authentic heart of Bali with the launch of the Payangan Sidecar Journey, a new Signature Experience showcasing the beauty, culture and community of Payangan aboard a classic sidecar.
Created for travellers seeking meaningful connections with the destination, the experience winds through the picturesque villages of Bukian, Puhu and Kebek. Guests can enjoy emerald rice terraces, traditional family compounds and the rhythm of daily village life, accompanied by a knowledgeable local host.
The journey is available as a 30–45-minute countryside experience or as an extended journey paired with a private picnic. The picnic experience concludes in Begawan Village, where guests are welcomed to a private rice field and traditional Balinese family compound. The three-course picnic features dishes such as Sate Maranggi, tamarind-marinated beef ribeye skewers, and Bebek Goreng Sambal Madura, crispy duck leg with sambal kluwek, alongside a choice of desserts and refreshing beverages.
“At Anantara, our Signature Experiences are designed to create meaningful connections with the destination. The Payangan Sidecar Journey invites guests to experience Payangan through local eyes, discovering its villages, landscapes and traditions while creating lasting memories inspired by the authentic spirit of Bali,” said Santiago Sagaz, General Manager of Anantara Ubud Bali Resort.
Made Warnata, Director of Spa, Wellness and Recreation, added: “Payangan has always been my home, and every village, rice field and quiet road has its own story. It is a pleasure to welcome guests into my community, share the beauty of our countryside and invite them to my family's rice field for a picnic. I hope every journey leaves guests with a genuine connection to the people, traditions and spirit of Bali.”
Departures are recommended between 8:00 am and 10:00 am, or from 3:30 pm, with the last departure at 4:00 pm. The experience is suitable for adults, couples and families with children aged five and above, with a maximum of two guests per departure. Advance reservations are recommended.
