Mohali, Punjab – 05, Octuber 2026 – Hartek Group, a leading Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) company in India, is strengthening its high-voltage substation execution capabilities to support the growing requirements of renewable power evacuation and grid infrastructure. With experience across extra-high-voltage (EHV) and high-voltage (HV) projects, the company is expanding its role in developing transmission infrastructure required to connect large renewable energy projects with the national grid.

India’s rapid expansion of solar and other renewable energy capacity is increasing the need for strong transmission and evacuation infrastructure. Generation assets require appropriately designed pooling substations, transmission substations, switchyards, and grid interconnection systems to transfer electricity from renewable energy zones to demand centres. Hartek Group is leveraging its power systems and EPC capabilities to address these requirements.

Strengthening High-Voltage Substation Capabilities

Hartek Group’s Power Systems business has delivered more than 400 EHV and HV substations, with capabilities extending up to 765 kV. The company has executed power infrastructure projects across more than 21 Indian states, supporting utilities, independent power producers, industries, and renewable energy developers.

The company’s project portfolio spans multiple voltage levels, including 66 kV, 132 kV, 220 kV, 400 kV, and 765 kV infrastructure. This broad execution experience allows Hartek to address different requirements associated with renewable power evacuation and transmission network development.

In February 2026, Hartek announced cumulative substation orders worth ₹735 crore across utility, independent power producer, and industrial segments. The projects covered infrastructure ranging from 66 kV to 765 kV across nine states, reinforcing the company’s nationwide execution capabilities.

Supporting Renewable Power Evacuation

Renewable energy projects are often located in regions with strong solar or wind resources, while major electricity demand centres can be located hundreds of kilometres away. High-voltage transmission infrastructure plays an important role in moving this generated electricity from renewable energy zones to the wider grid.

Hartek has undertaken projects directly connected with renewable power evacuation. In July 2025, the company secured a ₹138 crore contract from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) for a 400 kV AIS substation associated with the transmission scheme for integration of the Davanagere, Chitradurga, and Ballari Renewable Energy Zone in Karnataka. The scope included engineering, procurement, construction, testing, erection, and commissioning.

The company has also executed high-voltage substation infrastructure for utility-scale solar projects. In 2023, Hartek secured a contract for a 33 kV/400 kV pooling substation supporting a 300 MW solar power plant in Gujarat.

Integrated EPC Approach

Hartek Group’s high-voltage execution capabilities cover key stages of project delivery, including design and engineering, procurement, construction, equipment supply, erection, testing, and commissioning.

This integrated EPC approach is particularly important for renewable energy evacuation projects, where generation infrastructure must be coordinated with pooling substations, transmission systems, protection equipment, and grid interconnection requirements.

The company’s renewable energy business further complements its Power Systems capabilities. Hartek has connected more than 10 GW of solar capacity to the national grid, creating an integrated portfolio spanning renewable generation and transmission infrastructure.

Building Infrastructure for a Growing Renewable Grid

The increasing scale of renewable energy projects is changing the requirements of India’s transmission network. Larger solar and wind projects require transmission infrastructure capable of handling higher power flows while supporting grid coordination and system stability.

Hartek’s ability to operate across renewable generation and high-voltage transmission gives the company an integrated position within this expanding infrastructure ecosystem. Its recent 400 MW solar EPC project in Rajasthan, for example, includes a 220 kV solar pooling substation, connecting renewable generation with the transmission network. The project covers engineering, procurement, installation, construction, testing, commissioning, grid interconnection, and associated EPC activities.

Speaking about the company’s focus on high-voltage infrastructure, Simarpreet Singh, Executive Director & CEO, Hartek Group, said, “India’s renewable energy growth needs transmission infrastructure that can move power efficiently from generation zones to the grid. Our experience across high-voltage substations and renewable EPC projects enables us to contribute to this critical infrastructure requirement through integrated engineering and project execution capabilities.”

Supporting India’s Energy Transition

Hartek Group continues to strengthen its capabilities across Power Systems, Renewables, and Power Distribution Products. Its Power Systems business provides infrastructure across the EHV and HV segment, while its Renewables business focuses on utility-scale, rooftop, and other solar applications.

With more than 400 EHV and HV substations executed, capabilities up to 765 kV, and more than 10 GW of solar grid connectivity, Hartek Group is positioned to support the infrastructure requirements created by India’s expanding renewable energy capacity.

As renewable generation continues to expand, the company aims to build on its project execution experience and contribute to transmission and evacuation infrastructure that connects new sources of clean power with India’s wider electricity network.
