IQS Engineering upgraded its quality testing for custom brass castings, adding advanced OES melt analysis, subsurface NDT, and hydrostatic validation to guarantee pressure-tight, leak-proof parts for global valve, HVAC, and water OEMs.

PUNE, INDIA — October 30, 2026 — IQS Engineering Solutions Pvt. Ltd., an established global manufacturer and exporter of precision non-ferrous cast and forged engineering components, today announced a comprehensive upgrade to its quality assurance and metallurgical testing framework for its custom brass casting lines. Engineered to meet the zero-defect benchmarks of Tier-1 international valve, HVAC, and plumbing OEMs, the enhanced testing protocols guarantee the absolute pressure tightness and structural integrity of non-ferrous castings destined for high-stress, high-pressure fluid and gas systems.

Industrial fluid and gas networks—such as municipal water distribution, HVAC hydronic loops, and marine pipelines—rely on brass castings to contain pressurization without wall seepage. Standard casting methods, such as green sand and shell molding, can suffer from hidden internal defects like gas porosity, shrinkage voids, and non-metallic inclusions. These latent flaws, often undetectable through visual inspections, typically reveal themselves as through-wall leaks after expensive precision CNC machining has been completed or, worse, during field operation. IQS Engineering’s upgraded multi-stage quality testing workflow directly solves this challenge, ensuring that every shipped component is 100% verified for pressure containment.

The newly implemented QA pipeline integrates advanced testing technologies throughout the entire manufacturing cycle:
In-Line Optical Emission Spectrometry (OES): Chemical analysis performed on every melt to verify precise alloy composition—such as C83600 (red brass), C84400 (semi-red brass), and lead-free silicon brasses—ensuring compliance with international standards (ASTM, EN, and DIN) before pouring.

Ultrasonic and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT): Subsurface testing designed to detect internal voids, shrinkage, and structural anomalies before castings proceed to the machine shop.

Hydrostatic and Pneumatic Leak Testing: Dedicated pressure benches that subject finished parts to validation testing, exceeding standard operating pressures, to confirm hermetic sealing.

Chemical & Physical Metallurgical Validation: On-site laboratory assessment of grain structure, tensile strength, and hardness, backed by full EN 10204 3.1 material traceability.

The upgrade also includes enhanced Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) and digital profile inspection routines to verify geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) following complex CNC milling, drilling, and threading operations.

"Procurement leads and chief engineers cannot afford to risk their assembly line efficiency or brand reputation on porosity defects," said a spokesperson for IQS Engineering Solutions. "By investing in advanced melt analysis, sub-surface NDT, and dedicated pressure testing, we offer global OEMs completely verified, leak-proof brass castings. Our focus remains on delivering the highest possible yield and metallurgical reliability, from the furnace to the final assembly."

With its fully integrated setup in Pune, India—covering in-house tool design, foundry, hot forging, multi-axis CNC machining, and comprehensive testing—IQS Engineering continues to serve critical industrial, automotive, and electrical sectors across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and domestic markets.
