Hello everyone this is Jersey, Founder and leader of the Better Start Movement and I’m here to address the Viral Video and explain a few things. So, here’s what happened I’m homeless and I mainly panhandle to earn money and I reinvest in the business hence why we made the news and you can Google us. In an effort to expand our reach and prove our methods work. I created a GoFundMe that directly gives St. Judes the money. We do not receive a penny at all. All I asked and clearly stated was that supporters directly donate on our specific GoFundMe so that we can leverage that and become a featured corporate sponsor which they will list it on their website and send an email about us to millions of people. On the GoFundMe I even added some resources which will allow St. Judes patients who are and remain competitive academically before they graduate high school return to normal. As someone who personally fully funded a scholarship, will soon invest in programs that give high school internships with large stipends and looks better on a college resume, worst case scenario I can leverage this to give them a fair and even playing field.

Back to the video so I had a poster made picture should be attached and when I panhandle I have that displayed and people do ask and I explain everything clearly. In the video I was panhandling with the poster and my cardboard sign, a cop and Hispanic homeless resource worker comes up and asked if I needed help. So, I said and stated first I needed this GoFundMe filled and awareness. Since I said first that implies that I needed more help but we do one thing at a time. They then scan the QR code on the poster of the GoFundMe and verified it was real and everything was as advertised. Note, never in the video do they call me out for fraud or lying and a cop was there so I’m the real deal. I also called them out for their shelters being full and only helping 1 person out of 200 for the whole year transition to regular housing. The outrage is partly because of this and because I went to different places in different cities throughout Los Angeles and surrounding area and had a few supporters secretly follow me and just observe. What was witnessed explains why in October, cancer month, there wasn’t any GoFundMe donations to a well-known cancer charity through our GoFundMe set up. What was witnessed by cancer supporters and experienced by me was two things, first everywhere we went there were Spanish people who would walk up engage verify the poster and then hand food and say they need food and they don’t deserve money. Next, either Spanish managers would make false police calls saying I was on their property but the truth is I was on the plaza property outside any specific store property line. This behavior is heinous and telling people that cancer people only need food and not money for treatment or resources to help them transition back to normal is heinous. This mindset is dangerous and not the culture or environment we want users or future corporate partners to experience.

As a result, we will be joining the existing boycott and our allies in the cancer community have stated they understand and will stand by us. At a minimum, we will not allow any Hispanic student or family to use our products or services, they are also banned from using any of our allocated slots for paid high school internships we invest in and sponsor. We also will be lobbying for a 90 percent reduction in federal and state funding at K -12 level. There will be more such as either giving all management positions to our members and their families or just replace it with AI. Also, regarding the part of the video where the homeless resource worker was called out and couldn’t defend the part where the shelters were full and only helped one person out of 200 transitions back to normal, we will take action against that as well.
