BMW India has launched the new electric i7 range in India, with prices starting at Rs 1.95 crore. The range includes the i7 eDrive50 xDrive M Sport and i7 M70 xDrive. The i7 is now locally made in Chennai, with deliveries starting in October 2026.
The BMW i7 eDrive50 xDrive M Sport is priced at Rs 1,95,00,000, while the i7 M70 xDrive costs Rs 2,65,00,000 (both ex-showroom). Bookings are now open through BMW India dealerships.

The i7 is now produced at BMW Group Plant Chennai. India is the only country apart from Germany where the i7 is made locally. The i7 M70 xDrive will continue to come as a Completely Built-Up Unit.
Both versions follow the latest BMW luxury design. They get the illuminated BMW Iconic Glow Kidney Grille and BMW Individual crystal headlights with Swarovski glass elements. Adaptive LED headlights with matrix high beam, cornering light and BMW Selective Beam are standard. The design also features flush door handles, slim rear lights and clean horizontal lines.
The i7 M70 gets extra M-specific design details. These include a larger front intake, larger air curtains, a lower spoiler lip and a darker illuminated kidney grille with an M graphic. It also gets smoke-black crystal headlights, black exterior details, a black rear spoiler and a wider rear diffuser. The M70 rides on 21-inch M aerodynamic wheels with mixed-size tyres and black M Sport brake callipers.

Inside, both models get BMW Panoramic iDrive with BMW Operating System X, a 17.9-inch central display, BMW Panoramic Vision and a 14.6-inch passenger screen. The passenger screen automatically darkens when the driver looks towards it. Other features include a 3D head-up display and a multifunction steering wheel.

Rear passengers get Executive Lounge seats and a 31.3-inch 8K BMW Theatre Screen that folds down from the roof. The screen is paired with a Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System with Dolby Atmos. Other features include soft-close automatic doors, a Sky Lounge panoramic glass roof with more than 40 LEDs, BMW Individual Merino leather, CraftedClarity glass controls and an illuminated Alcantara phone tray with 15-watt wireless charging.
The i7 eDrive50 xDrive uses an electric powertrain producing 455 hp and 660 Nm. It can go from 0 to 100 kmph in 5.5 seconds and has a top speed of 210 kmph. Its 112.5 kWh battery offers a claimed WLTP range of up to 728 km. BMW says this is 125 km more than the outgoing model and the highest range in its segment.

The i7 M70 xDrive gets two electric motors producing 680 hp. Torque stands at 1,015 Nm in Sport mode and can rise to 1,100 Nm with Launch Control and Sport Boost. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 3.8 seconds and has a top speed of 250 kmph. The M70 has a claimed WLTP range of up to 686 km.
Both models support 250 kW DC charging, taking the battery from 10% to 80% in 28 minutes. With a 22 kW AC charger, a full charge takes around six hours. BMW includes a wallbox charger and installation with both models, supporting home charging at up to 22 kW.

Safety and driver assistance features include Cruise Control, Attentiveness Assistant, Parking Assistant Professional, smartphone-based remote parking and Reversing Assistant Professional. The i7 also gets Driving Assistant Plus with active cruise control and Stop and Go, Steering and Lane Control Assistant and blind spot monitoring.
