Surge Future Mobility is taking a different approach to electric mobility with the Surge S32, a vehicle designed to operate in both two-wheeler and three-wheeler configurations. The company describes the S32 as a transforming vehicle that can switch between the two forms in around three minutes, allowing users to change the vehicle according to their requirements.
The concept is particularly relevant to mobility use cases where the requirements of a vehicle can change during the day. Surge identifies applications including ride-sharing, last-mile delivery and personal mobility. Rather than requiring separate vehicles for different purposes, the S32 is designed around a single integrated system that can shift between vehicle classes.
The S32 is a pure electric vehicle, with the two-wheeler and three-wheeler configurations operating through their respective powertrains. The scooter is an integral part of the three-wheeler rather than being pulled as a trailer. Only the powertrain corresponding to the active configuration operates, with the other remaining non-functional for safety.
